Merchant Jacket VII
The Merchant mixes luxe gypset style with chic utility. To create this stunner, we refined the details of our most love-worn army jackets, beginning with the fabric. High-quality cotton was stonewashed not one, not two but three times to get that buttery-soft, broken-in feel and subtle vintage fading. This stamen topper also has spacious pockets to hold essentials when you want to ditch your bag and antiqued bronze buttons and epaulets for a hint of military.
The Merchant is mesmerizing with its shimmering mirror embroidery lovingly hand-sourced from Rajasthan by Merchant Society. Shisha embroidery traces back to India’s 17th century Golden Age, when mica and beetle wings were first sewn into royal textiles. Today the meticulous art form can especially be found in India’s northwestern regions, where tribes claim unique styles and believe mirrors reflect evil away from the wearer.
The Merchant will become your year-round favorite, roomy enough to cozy up with chunky sweaters or tossed over a tee and jeans. Whether on safari or at a farmer’s market or gallery fete, it makes an effortless style statement.
Merchant has a roomy fit. Please see the size chart for measurements. Measurements were taken in centimeters with the jacket laid flat.
